Kevin's anticipation
before book published this week (21-JUL-2007):

1. HARRY CAN'T DIE. This makes no sense whatsoever. The mantle has been passed from Dumbledore to Potter. Potter must beat Voldemort. Otherwise the whole thing has been futile. Maybe Harry will die and then Sirius Black (who is missing presumed dead) will tap him on the scar that contains the horcrux of Voldemort.

2. Snapes will obviously sacrifice to save Potter. He owes Potter's father, that's why he's saved Potter a few times, although he despises Potter. Snapes is a turncoat character who must redeem himself.

3. The ending? When Dobby was introduced and a snake, I thought ohmygod she's referring to the kid's game in England. Dobby 1,2,3. It's kind of hide and go seek, but with a drawing in invisible on someone's back. "I draw a snake on this man's back, who will finish it with a tap." I'd better money J.K.R ends it with Harry dead, a snake drawn, and someone finishes it with a tap? Sirius returned (we never see him dead!) Or funnier, Dobby himself?

4. Before Harry gets to Voldemort, he presumably must get past the Death Eaters and Voldemort's pet snake, Nagini, that I think is one more of horcrux.

5. The challange in Potter 6 before Dumbledore is killed was to for Potter to track down the remaining hallows; the snake is one of the hallows.

6. What are the Hallows? Possess all four and you cheat death. (So, again will Harry (ultimately) die? No. He can't do. Otherwise there's no coherent story). Voldemort in French means Flight from death.

7. Potter leads a band of students in PHOENIX to fight back evil. In Potter 7 he may not spend any time doing his 'A' level wizard exams because the Ministry of Magic has gone nuts on the school.

8. When Potter kills Voldemort, the land must grow again and growth replace death. That's classic Grail prototyping. Hogwarts will live again, cleaned up, and maybe Potter as the new Headmaster with Ron and Hermione as A.Ps.

9. Nagini is a woman-serpent goddess in Indian mythology. It's a double serpent. Is Naga-Nagini, the true Voldemort and DNA replicant?

Who is that snake freed from the zoo way back in Potter 1?
