THE NICE GUYS

directed by Shane Black

written by Shane Black and Anthony Bagarozzi

HEALY (V.O.)
Love... Grand isn't it..?
(beat)
Me? I was in love once. June Miller.

FLASH CUT TO: A NICE RESTAURANT

HEALY sits across a table from a knockout BLONDE. They stare into each other's eyes. A beat. Healy starts to say something. The blonde cuts him off:

BLONDE
Jack... I slept with your father.

The guy at the next table does a spit take.

PLOT: Holland March takes a case because he needs the money. The case? A Presidental candidate's daughter commits suicide and he wants to know what pushed to it? Or who? The girl's aunt might be unreliable since she's an eye witness who can't see properly. Helping or hindering March in his Chandleresque investigation is Jackson Healy, the muscle. Both Healy and March have history with alcohol: Healy recovering and March drinking it every night.
